From Garda you can walk to Bardolino via the lake path (or vice-versa), and from Garda in the opposite direction you can walk to Punto San Vigilio. By the way, although Garda gave its name to the lake (formerly called Lake Benacus) it isn't the main town on the lake. Desenzano is the largest, followed by Riva.
Olive oil from Lake Garda is a unique light oil of extremely high quality. It is produced all around the lake by small family enterprises and you can visit the farm and oil mill near Desenzano at Frantoio Montecroce. Make sure to get appointments in advance. We went wine tasting and walked through the winery at Ca Maiol.
Day 3: Sirmione to Riva Del Garda Mountains around the north of Lake Garda. This morning, you'll travel north on Lake Garda to the town of Riva del Garda. Using the ferry service is easy and offers fantastic views of all the villages and mountains surrounding the lake. Take the early ferry, and arrive 2.5 hours later in Riva del Garda. How much time do you need in Lake Garda? You can drive around Lake Garda and get a quick impression in just a day or you can spend a week in the area and you’ll find plenty to see and do… Ideally, I suggest at least 2-3 days at Lake Garda. The views from the top - up and down the coastline of Lake Garda - are amazing! Well worth the grueling hike up. It took us 40 minutes to hike up - similar to walking up stairs the whole way. Hiking boots would be best (rocky path), but gym shoes work fine. About half shade, half sun the full way. Take water :)The Trentino shores of Lake Garda have an open-air gym which never shuts! The area’s mild temperatures mean you can ride on the roads and cycle paths, hike through forests and olive groves, and climb crags and legendary walls even during the winter months. walk. #2.
From Bardolino you can walk southwards to Lazise which is just over an hour. The hamlet of Cisano is on the way, around 20 minutes from Bardolino then another 45 minutes to Lazise. You can walk in one direction then take a bus or boat in the other. When we're staying in Garda we often walk to Bardolino then on to Cisano where we stop for lunch.
